Kilmarnock Infinity Loop ii

The Kilmarnock Infinity Loop is a 26-kilometer network of walking, cycling, and wheeling routes designed to connect residential areas with key services, leisure destinations, and green spaces across the town. The project emphasizes active travel, placemaking, and wayfinding, creating safe and attractive pathways that promote health, well-being, and community engagement. By integrating urban connectivity with natural landscapes, the loop enhances accessibility while fostering a more sustainable and inclusive environment. Supported by Sustrans’ Places for Everyone program and the Scottish Government, it reflects a commitment to reimagining public spaces for a healthier, more connected future. 

The Kilmarnock city centre design reimagines the area outside the bus station as a dynamic and pedestrian-centric civic space. This thoughtfully designed scheme includes a central paved gathering area with a striking water feature, enhanced planting, varied seating options, and clear pedestrian zones. By prioritizing accessibility and seamlessly integrating with existing infrastructure, the project enhances connectivity to transport hubs and nearby commercial areas. The addition of landscaped green spaces, including trees and formal planting, fosters a greener and more inviting atmosphere. This revitalization aims to transform the heart of Kilmarnock into a welcoming, functional, and aesthetically engaging destination for residents and visitors alike.
