This project focuses on designing placemaking and landscape enhancements for a 6.5km active travel route on the Isle of Skye, commissioned by the Broadford and Strath Community Company. Sweco's desk-based study identifies opportunities for features such as wayfinding, green infrastructure, natural play, seating, and interpretation, aimed at improving user experience and connectivity. The proposals incorporate insights from community consultations and emphasize enhancing the route's character while supporting active travel and local engagement.
Offered landscape architectural services to Broadford Council's active travel initiative, focused on the design and implementation of a 6.5km cycleway on the Isle of Skye. My contributions included developing a concept-level report that explored opportunities for placemaking, effective wayfinding strategies, and interpretive elements along the route. This work involved close collaboration with the project team to analyze local needs and maximize the benefits for both residents and visitors, establishing a foundation for future infrastructure enhancements in Broadford.
